What is Homegrown by Heroes?
HBH certified logo
Homegrown By Heroes (HBH) is the official farmer veteran branding program of America. The HBH logo serves to inform consumers that products donning the logo were produced by military veterans. The program is available to farmers, ranchers, and value-added producers of all branches and eras of military service. Founded by the Kentucky Department of Agriculture, Farmer Veteran Coalition was granted the honor of administering the program nationally on Veterans Day 2013. Since then, the program has expanded to include over 1,000 members in all 50 states plus Puerto Rico. HBH is supported by several national agriculture and food safety leaders such USDA, Farm Credit, and the American Farm Bureau.

Note: Our family does not believe we are heroes. However, being a part of this organization allows our family to support many other veteran farmers, some of which have given so much of themselves to include parts of their own bodies (wounded warriors) and are considered heroes by our nation.

What is APPPA?
APPPA logo
The American Pastured Poultry Producers’ Association (APPPA) is a nonprofit educational and networking organization dedicated to encouraging the production, processing, and marketing of poultry raised on pasture. APPPA passionately embraces humane, people-friendly, environmentally enhancing, pasture-based production models. While we respect the freedom of others to engage in industrial confinement factory farming, we believe our approach is superior. APPPA’s world vision is to see pastured poultry adopted as the model for environmentally, emotionally, and economically sensible poultry production. This vision includes decentralized food systems, farmstead-sized processing, and as much interaction as possible between producer and consumer.
